"Brugmansia" was an Abdul led vehicle where he wanted to finally showcase his drumming talents for RAIC. I have very lazily referred to this ensemble as "metal RAIC" but it really is so much more than that. Abdul wanted to have a harder edged free form post rock metal sound with ambient elements and approaching black metal zeniths. I have to admit I was a little leery in the beginning. falsely believing that we could not pull off black metal improv. I was also very thrilled to perform vocals on this as I have dabbled with voice before but it was always auxiliary and here I could fully explore this direction. We have performed this ensemble live twice and we all liked playing this so much we have talked about this being it's own project on its own so we will see. Maybe?
