Abdul's noise alter ego Shame became more active in the summer and fall of 2017. One day he showed me this remix he did of "First Strike" a free jazz song myself and Erik recorded for the song "Communion." It was weird and crazy and noisy and chaotic. So naturally I loved it and told him we should include it on this album I was trying to put together. I like this track more and more every time I hear it, Abdul is a musician of seemingly endless talent and drive and this remix is just one more facet of a growing list of things we love about him.
